Mrs. Vicki Davis

Vicki Davis is an AP Computer Science teacher, IT Director, and author of the Cool Cat Teacher Blog. Vicki brings real classroom experience and wisdom from helping her own children who had learning differences and struggled to learn. Currently in her 24th year of teaching and serving as IT Coach/Director, Vicki’s students have achieved a 100% pass rate in AP Computer Science Principles since launching the course. Vicki thoughtfully integrates AI tools while strengthening students' critical thinking skills. Vicki received the ISTE Online Learning Award (2007), was named EdTech Magazine's K-12 IT Influencer (2021, 2022, 2025), earned the Bammy Award for Best Podcast Host in Education, and was recognized as a Top Global EdTech Influencer by ICS Global Research. Most meaningfully, she's been honored as Star Teacher twice at her school. Author of "Reinventing Writing" (Routledge) and "Flattening Classrooms, Engaging Minds" (Pearson), Vicki was featured in Thomas Friedman's "The World is Flat" for her innovative global collaboration practices. As host of The 10-Minute Teacher Podcast (900+ episodes, over 7 million downloads) and Cool Cat Teacher Talk radio/TV show, she filters EdTech noise into classroom-ready insights. Vicki has spoken at over 20 state technology conferences, ISTE, and internationally across six continents including Russia, UAE, Qatar, India, and China, as well as at Harvard, Princeton, Google, and Microsoft.
