Now in his 11th year as Principal of Uxbridge High School, Michael Rubin has transformed UHS through a focus on educational innovation, authentic learning, and purposeful technological integration. Dr. Rubin currently chairs the Blackstone Valley Ed Hub Board of Advisors and acts as Massachusetts State Coordinator for the National Association of Secondary School Principals, while also serving as President of the Central Massachusetts Athletic Conference. UHS has gained recognition as a member of the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools and the CAPS Network. It stands as the only comprehensive high school in Massachusetts to earn Project Lead the Way program distinction for six consecutive years. Dr. Rubin has shared UHS''s success nationally, highlighting its authentic learning approaches, industry partnerships, and skills-based competencies, and UHS has reknowned Career Pathway programs.
These efforts have earned UHS recognition as one of the top five schools in "Innovation Impact" at ASU/GSV in 2024 and as an AI Innovator in 2025. More than 80 schools have visited UHS to learn from its educational model. Dr. Rubin was named Massachusetts High School Principal of the Year in 2020 and received the MassCUE Administrator Award in 2024. He holds degrees from Brown University, Bridgewater State University, and the University of the Cumberlands.
