Lisa Allen

Lisa Allen has been teaching social studies at the high school level since 1998. Her passion is civics, and helping to foster an engaged, informed, and open-minded next generation of voters. In 2023, she was the team lead on her school’s certification as an Illinois Democracy School. Since 2019, Lisa has also served as the instructional coach at her school, helping her teachers to develop and maintain high standards by differentiating teaching strategies to engage and challenge all learners. As the debate coach and homeroom coordinator, Lisa prioritizes creating a safe and inclusive culture in which mistakes are viewed as a fundamental part of the learning process.
