Mrs. Josie Cheney

With 24 years of experience as a high school English Language Arts teacher and five years as an instructional coach at West Ottawa Public Schools in Holland, Michigan, Josie has dedicated her career to inspiring students and embracing innovation in education. Based in Holland, Michigan, she works with West Ottawa Public Schools, where she mentors new and early-career secondary teachers. A forward-thinking educator, she embraces emerging trends and is currently teaching a foundational AI course designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for college and career readiness. She has been fortunate to be on the forefront of educational change, especially in integrating new technologies into the classroom. Today, Josie is particularly excited about the possibilities artificial intelligence brings to the future of teaching and learning. Outside of school, she is happily married to her fun-loving husband. Together, they enjoy life with their three grown children and two wonderful grandchildren.
