Dr. Joan McGettigan

Dr. Joan McGettigan is the Director of Educational Technology at The Windward School, which serves students with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. She has led curriculum mapping initiatives to build knowledge and schema, presents nationally on the intersection of AI, pedagogy, and literacy, and created and co-hosted the 2024 3 part webinar series Curriculum Workshop Series for the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) as well as the 6 part vodcast series for The Windward Institute: AI Insights in EdTech. Joan holds an Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership and is a certified ISTE, TLIS and Apple Learning Coach as well as an Apple Distinguished Educator and a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert. Her work focuses on inclusive curriculum design, AI literacy, executive functioning, and digital fluency.
