Dr. Jennifer Berne

Dr. Jennifer Brachfeld Berne is an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University in the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. She received her B.A in English Literature and Political Science from Tulane University, her M.A. in English Literature from Florida Atlantic University, and her Ed.D. in Organizational Change and Leadership at the University of Southern California. She is currently CEO of NewGrade LLC, a standards-based curriculum mapping, grading, and reporting app. She taught English Literature at Florida Atlantic University for fifteen years, she taught IB English and Creative Writing at North Broward Preparatory School for twelve years, and she currently teaches education, curriculum, assessment, classroom management, and creative writing at NSU. Dr. Berne's teaching and research centers on equitable and accurate teaching, curriculum, and assessment practices. She has presented at ISTE, FETC, FCIS, iTech21, and the NSU Teachers for Tomorrow Conference and Diversity Summit. She is on the Board of AQUA Foundation for Women and is a Girl Rising Mentor, Class Dojo Mentor, Apple Teacher, Google Educator Level 1, Book Creator Ambassador, Canva Certified Educator, and Padlet promoter.
