Dr. Jason Neiffer

Dr. Jason Neiffer serves as Executive Director of the Montana Digital Academy, Montana’s state virtual school, where he leads statewide efforts to expand high-quality online learning. Over the past 28 years in public education, he has consistently worked to blend pedagogy and technology to make instruction more engaging and effective. In his current role, Jason has spearheaded MTDA’s exploration in AI, finding places to advance course design and student learning.  He has given over 40 presentations, workshops, and webinars on AI in service of better teaching and learning.  Jason’s passion for instructional technology dates back to 1984, when—as a fourth grader—he configured the Apple IIe lab at Roosevelt Elementary School in Great Falls. Since then, he’s remained captivated by educational software—from early classics like Lemonade Stand and Oregon Trail to today’s deep-learning platforms—always striving to guide educators toward thoughtful, student-centered applications of technology.
