Brandon Cardet-Hernandez is the Founder and CEO of Medley Learning, where he is building adaptive, research-backed digital tools that help multilingual learners and students with disabilities access grade-level content through scaffolded supports. A changemaker at the intersection of education and social justice, Brandon has shaped policy and practice at every level of the education system.
Previously, he served as President of Mrs Wordsmith where he led the expansion and development of award-winning literacy games and content recognized by TIME as one of the World’s Top EdTech Companies. In government, he served as Director of Strategic Initiatives for the NYC Department of Education supporting school turnaround efforts and as Senior Education Advisor to former NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, helping steer the nation’s largest expansion of early childhood education and leading critical COVID-19 response efforts. His school-level experience includes serving as a special education teacher, turnaround principal at The Urban Assembly Bronx Academy of Letters, and Executive Director of Ivy Street Programs.
Brandon currently serves on the Boston School Committee and the Massachusetts Council for Latino Empowerment, and sits on the boards of EdVestors, The Leadership Academy and The Huntington Theater, helping shape policies and investments that expand opportunity for students and families. His work has been featured in The Atlantic, People en Español, Essence Magazine, CNN, and the Netflix documentary, Teach Us All.
