I am an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Economics and Education program at Teachers College, Columbia University. I work in the fields of development economics and experimental and behavioral economics. I am interested in the economics of education in developing countries, own child labor substitution, occupational identity, and dissonance in beliefs about returns to education. In recent research, I examined how improved infrastructure, such as access to piped water, affects women''s empowerment and mental health. In another research strand, with a few other collaborators, we explore the role of EdTech in making Math more accessible and promoting its literacy among elementary and middle school children.
