Mr. Andy Goveia

Andy Goveia is the 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher at Thomas Metcalf Laboratory School. Wired for deep content and middle school learning, Andy is passionate about connecting students to their past, present, and potential future through his teaching. In the Illinois State University Laboratory Schools, Andy works to impact the next generation of teachers. Andy is passionate about dynamic servant leadership and ensuring we actively support and enhance what is possible for all students by ensuring the work gets done. Andy has presented at various venues focused on technology, instruction, pedagogy, and teacher leadership. His classroom is always open to research, collaboration, visitors, and innovating what comes next!
