In softball, no team wins the game in the first inning. You win by treating each inning as its own contest. What if your teaching day worked the same way? Too often we carry every inning at once, with technology turning up the noise instead of quieting it. This Brain Gym session is your chance to put the bat down and breathe. Drawn from years of coaching fastpitch softball, Win the Inning is a philosophy of present-moment focus: win the period, the lesson or the one task in front of you, and let the rest wait its turn. You will explore why present-moment focus helps buffer against burnout, how fragmented attention erodes well-being and effectiveness, and how simple, mindful boundaries with technology protect your focus. This isn't a lecture; you will practice the technique in the room and feel the reset before you leave. Walk out with a repeatable refocusing habit that needs no tools, budget or prep, one you can use Monday morning and teach your students that afternoon.
