What Top-Performing Districts Do Differently: From Evidence to Instructional Growth

School Leaders
Top-performing districts don't just walk classrooms. They turn every observation into a disciplined, reflective conversation between leaders and teachers, grounded in shared evidence rather than subjective impressions. This round table discussion explores the methodology behind that shift: a structured, non-evaluative walkthrough process built on the Evidence, Impact, Next Step framework that delivers objective, specific feedback immediately after observation. Teachers engage their feedback through their own dashboard, seeing exactly what was observed, what it meant for students and what their next instructional move should be. Drawing on a year of district-wide implementation in Florida, the conversation examines how this two-way feedback loop gives leaders an accurate read on instructional reality and builds the psychological safety teachers need to take risks and grow. You will leave knowing how to structure walkthroughs around a shared instructional framework, calibrate leaders on the Evidence, Impact, Next Step structure and design look-fors that produce objective, comparable evidence, along with a sequence for building a reflective instructional culture in your own system.
