How can coding and robotics help students who struggle in math? This poster presentation explores how schools and districts can strengthen TK-12 mathematics intervention by integrating coding and robotics into Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Explore practical strategies for connecting Tier 1 math instruction with Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention and special education services while complementing existing district-adopted math programs. Examine district, school and classroom implementation models that support struggling students, including students with disabilities, English learners and other vulnerable student groups. Real-world examples show how coding and robotics can reinforce mathematical understanding, increase engagement and persistence, promote productive mathematical discourse and provide equitable access to meaningful learning. You will leave with practical strategies for creating coherent, inclusive math intervention programs that strengthen connections between mathematics, computational thinking and STEM learning.
