¡Sí Se Puede, Con IA!: AI for ELL Support in the World Language

Classroom Leaders
World Language classrooms are uniquely complex: one teacher, multiple proficiency levels and students who are often English Learners themselves. Traditional differentiation can only stretch so far. In this poster presentation, a veteran middle school Spanish teacher shares how he uses AI daily to differentiate instruction and support ELLs as a genuine equity lever, not a gimmick. See how he generates tiered activities on the fly, scaffolds speaking and writing for newcomers, uses AI conversation bots for low-stakes oral fluency practice and delivers personalized feedback without doubling his prep time. Featured tools include MagicSchool AI, Snorkl, Brisk Teaching and custom AI chatbots, with time to explore student-facing tools and candid reflection on what works and what doesn't. You will leave knowing how to use at least three free or freemium AI tools that require no coding, a QR-linked resource deck with setup guides, chatbot prompts and sample tiered activities, and a framework for responsible AI use that keeps students in ownership of their language development, whatever language you teach.
