Let’s Bring Literacy and Learning To Life Through Making, STEM and Technology!
Books can become powerful springboards for creativity, innovation and problem-solving. In this fun, hands-on workshop, librarians and educators discover how to bring literacy and learning to life through making, STEM and technology as students read, design, build and share their learning. Explore strategies for selecting mentor texts that naturally lead to building, design challenges, coding and creative problem-solving, along with simple frameworks for turning read-alouds into interactive STEM experiences. You will find ideas ranging from simple, low-prep activities to interactive projects that integrate engineering design, coding and creative construction, plus ways to use technology to document, extend and share student thinking. You will have time to try things out, collaborate and share your own ideas. Walk away with fresh ideas, favorite books and materials, new resources and the confidence to bring literacy, making and technology together in joyful, everyday learning experiences. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
