The shift from card catalogs to search engines changed how we taught research skills, and AI is changing it again. Search engines are no longer the only game in town, so research instruction needs a reboot. In this workshop, you will explore three research pathways: traditional search engines, large language models and large language models that provide citations. Using the Research Recipe Card framework, you will try each approach firsthand and compare its strengths and limitations. You will learn how AI is changing search behavior, content curation and information synthesis, how to evaluate the credibility and bias of AI-generated responses, and how to teach students to cross-reference across multiple tools and sources. Build your own AI literacy while gaining a ready-to-use classroom strategy that makes the research process visible and develops habits such as source skepticism, lateral reading and balanced tool use, so students search smarter, verify information and think critically in an AI-saturated world. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
