Small and rural districts are often described as having fewer opportunities in course variety, electives and CTE pathways, yet research shows they hold powerful assets: nimble structures, the ability to monitor student progress closely and respond quickly, and deep community relationships. This workshop examines research-informed approaches to instructional design and implementation emerging from small and rural districts across the country. Explore models that leverage flexible staffing, community partnerships, technology-enabled learning and competency-based structures to expand opportunities and meet diverse learner needs. You will also examine successful courses of study and effective instructional practice, along with the principles and pitfalls of change management. Together, we will craft a clear, compelling mission and vision that becomes the foundation for a strategic, actionable plan with practical early implementation steps. Bring your ideas, your vision and your challenges, and leave ready to build momentum for sustainable transformation. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
