As classrooms evolve to emphasize creativity, critical thinking, brain-based practices and thoughtful use of technology and AI, many families are left to make sense of these changes through fragmented conversations, social media narratives and outdated assumptions about what school should look like. The result can be confusion, skepticism and resistance, even when schools are making meaningful progress. This session explores how educators and leaders can better communicate the purpose, design and value of modern learning environments to parents and caregivers. Grounded in neuroscience, classroom practice and real-world experience, examine why many communication models fall short and how to shift from informing families to engaging them as partners. Through the lens of the AweFull Learning Process, gain concrete tools for reframing conversations about technology, instruction and student experience, strategies for addressing misinformation and common concerns, and a framework for building transparent, inclusive, forward-thinking school communities.
