Classroom Leaders
Traditional, static classroom layouts can work against the cognitive needs of today's digital-native students. Drawing on foundational neuroscience and the presenter's background in both healthcare and edtech, this hands-on workshop shows leaders how to redesign standard learning environments into brain-friendly zones optimized for high-level problem solving. Use the Universal Design for Learning framework to explore how physical layout influences student voice, choice and collaborative risk-taking, and how flexible design supports multiple means of engagement and of action and expression. Learn spatial mapping techniques and blueprints for three zones within a single room: the Hub for collaboration, the Cave for independent focus and the Lab for hands-on production. See how these spaces support NGSS engineering challenges, robotics and digital storytelling, even on a tight budget. Leave with a zero-cost space audit checklist you can use by next Monday and a procurement guide for intentional, budget-conscious furniture and tech purchases. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
