How can students learn to notice authentic problems, empathize with users and turn ideas into purposeful designs they can prototype, pitch and showcase? In this interactive Mobile Mega Share, explore a classroom-tested design thinking model that uses a teacher-created, student-facing AI Design Buddy to guide critical thinking without giving answers. See how students move through questioning, empathy, defining needs and constraints, ideation, CAD design, physical prototyping, measurement, testing and revision. Physical prototyping with classroom-friendly materials makes math visible as students measure, scale, compare and refine their designs. Digital tools extend the process through AR visualization, shared virtual design spaces, 3D printing and virtual showcases where students present and explain their designs in Minecraft- and Roblox-style worlds or other collaborative environments. Designed for classrooms with or without makerspaces, the session gives you a repeatable pathway you can launch with one classroom challenge, low-cost materials, a simple AI prompt guide and flexible showcase choices that support UDL, student agency, creativity and future-ready problem-solving.
