Gamification is not just adding points and badges or throwing apps into a lesson. This interactive workshop breaks down what makes games so engaging and shows how those same ideas can strengthen almost any classroom activity without turning your classroom into an arcade. Explore what companies like Nintendo figured out years ago about motivation, attention, challenge and feedback, and discover how missions, storytelling, surprise, progress tracking, respawning and immediate feedback serve as engagement structures grounded in brain science. You will participate in Pear Deck activities, discover what type of game player you are, analyze examples, and help build a custom Google Gem that takes an existing lesson and generates ideas to gamify it. Then see how Gemini Canvas can create full interactive games, review activities and challenge-based learning experiences when you want to go further. Leave with practical ways to design gamification into existing lessons across grade levels and content areas, without completely redesigning your lessons or relying on digital apps and games. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
