Communication, collaboration and social competence are among the most important skills students need for success in school, work and life. How can students practice them safely and authentically? This poster presentation explores how extended reality technologies create immersive, interactive experiences where students can practice, refine and apply communication, perspective-taking, problem-solving and social interaction skills. Through classroom examples and implementation strategies, discover how XR provides safe, engaging environments that increase engagement, offer authentic practice opportunities, help students build confidence and deliver meaningful feedback. Examine practical examples of XR implementation across educational settings and strategies for integrating immersive learning into existing instructional practices. You will leave with actionable ideas, implementation considerations and classroom-ready approaches for using XR to strengthen social competence and prepare learners with the communication and collaboration skills they need to succeed in an increasingly connected world.
