IT Leaders
Technology leaders are often responsible for everything from cybersecurity and infrastructure to classroom tools, data privacy, AI, purchasing, crisis response and whatever broke five minutes before the meeting started. The work is meaningful, but the pace becomes unsustainable when leadership depends on constant urgency, invisible labor and individual heroics. This Brain Gym session creates space for district and IT leaders to examine the human side of technology leadership. Through reflection, humor and practical tools, you will identify patterns of overload that are often normalized, name the hidden workload you carry and explore how clearer systems, healthier boundaries, shared ownership, communication rhythms and realistic priorities support sustainable leadership. You will leave with a sustainability checklist for examining urgency, delegation, communication, boundaries and team capacity. Then choose one recurring stress point, decide whether it needs a system, a conversation, a decision or a boundary, and create a 30-day action step. This is not about doing less important work; it is about leading it in a way that lets people and systems last.
