Building AI Literacy through Project-Based Learning
Project-based learning offers a powerful way for students to build AI literacy through authentic inquiry, creation, reflection and problem-solving. This poster presentation explores how every stage of the PBL process, from developing driving questions and conducting research to seeking feedback, revising work and creating authentic products, can help students engage with AI thoughtfully and responsibly. Discover practical strategies that teach students to evaluate AI-generated content, identify bias, misinformation and hallucinations, collaborate responsibly with AI and make informed decisions about when and how to use it. Through classroom examples, protocols and ready-to-use resources, you will learn how to intentionally embed AI literacy into existing projects while preserving student voice, choice, critical thinking and agency. Leave with adaptable protocols, classroom activities and planning tools you can implement immediately in any grade level or content area.
