No Budget, No Excuse: Strengthen Your District’s Cybersecurity

29 Jan 2027
SOUTH 330D
District Leaders
Cybersecurity does not have to start with a large budget. In this workshop, you will learn how to strengthen your district's security posture using free tools and resources aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. We will break down which NIST categories to prioritize first, identify the improvements with the greatest impact, and demonstrate practical PowerShell scripts that quickly harden Windows environments. You will also get policy and procedure templates to establish the governance and documentation every district needs, regardless of staff size. Whether you are a one-person IT department or lead a larger team, you will leave with ready-to-use resources, including PowerShell scripts, editable templates, a free NIST-based cybersecurity assessment tool, and a five-step action plan. Return to your district ready to strengthen endpoint security, reduce vulnerabilities, and follow a clear roadmap toward long-term cybersecurity maturity without additional funding. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
