Lectures. Worksheets. Note-taking. Direct instruction. Education keeps declaring these practices dead, yet many refuse to stay buried. In this hands-on workshop, we will put some of education's most notorious zombie pedagogies under the microscope. Drawing on the Science of Learning, Universal Design for Learning, and playful pedagogy, you will decide what deserves to be resurrected, what needs an upgrade, and what may finally be ready for the instructional graveyard. Look beyond the old-versus-new debate and evaluate practices by how well they support learning. Through hands-on challenges and before-and-after lesson makeovers, you will explore practical ways to strengthen retrieval, participation, feedback, learner choice, and productive thinking within familiar routines. Then apply these ideas to one of your own lessons or strategies, and leave with a redesigned approach you can actually use, not another mandate to start from scratch. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
