AI Task Redesign Lab: From Answer-Getting to Real Thinking

AI can already complete most traditional school assignments, so what is worth assigning now? In this hands-on session, bring one current assignment and put it through an honest audit: What does AI do with it? What thinking does it replace? What is left for the student? You will move through three stages: auditing the current task, identifying where AI takes over, and rebuilding the assignment around judgment, decision-making or creative reasoning that AI can support but not replace. No prerequisites are needed. You will leave with a completed AI vulnerability audit, a redesigned version of your assignment ready to use in your next unit, and a four-part framework for evaluating any assignment's AI resistance going forward. Take the audit rubric back to your department to review existing assessments and build a shared bank of AI-resistant tasks with colleagues, so your classroom stays ahead of AI instead of chasing it.
