If AI can complete an assignment for full credit, what is that assignment actually measuring? This workshop challenges educators to rethink assignment design in an AI-enabled world. Using real examples and guided analysis, evaluate existing assignments to pinpoint where AI can easily do the work and where student thinking is still essential. Learn a simple framework for determining when a task no longer measures real learning, then apply a practical redesign approach that makes learning visible through explanation, reflection, iteration, process evidence, short oral or written justifications and real-world problem solving. See how to turn AI-vulnerable assignments into tasks that require reasoning and understanding, and adjust rubrics to value thinking and process over final answers. Leave with strategies for any subject area and adaptable templates you can use right away to test and revise an assignment in a single planning period, moving beyond detection and restriction toward intentional, rigorous design. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
