Be Your Own Tech Coach: Self-Paced System for Getting Good with New Tools

New apps and devices keep landing in your classroom, but your tech coach is stretched across five buildings. Sound familiar? This session offers a repeatable, self-paced method for teaching yourself a new STEM tool without waiting for someone else to train you. Built by a teacher who worked without a coach for three years, the system is closer to science than PD: pick one tool, set a narrow hypothesis, run a two-week trial with one class, collect evidence, and keep or kill the tool based on the data. We will walk through chemistry and coding examples, share an observation form for borrowing effective moves from other teachers, and discuss when to quit tools that dazzle in demos but fail with thirty freshmen. You will build a one-page self-coaching plan for your next district mandate and start your own evidence file. You don't need to be a tech expert, just methodical, to catch up on your own terms.
