Digital Safety for the K-8 Classroom

Want to build a cybersecurity mindset with your youngest learners without spending a dime? This hands-on workshop introduces no-cost K-8 resources and curricula from CYBER.ORG, starting with Cybersecurity Basics and its components: Digital Citizenship, Security, Computing Systems and Artificial Intelligence. You will see how modular lessons can be taught as standalone activities or bundled into full units, making them easy to adapt for regular classrooms, enrichment programs and after-school settings. Along the way, you will explore how to pair activities across additional K-8 courses in Coding Fundamentals, Computational Thinking and Range Activities. You will experience unplugged activities firsthand and work through technical labs in the CYBER.ORG Range. Through discussion with fellow educators, you will also explore pedagogy and technical best practices for promoting digital safety. Leave with hands-on experience and a flexible, classroom-ready curriculum you can use as individual lessons or complete courses in any K-8 classroom. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
