AI-Powered Librarian: From Collection to Creation

AI isn't replacing librarians; it's supercharging them. This hands-on workshop walks librarians through practical AI integration across the modern library program, from collection development and reading engagement to student content creation and daily operations. You will work with AI tools in real time, using MagicSchool AI to generate differentiated reading guides, discussion questions and book talks, Adobe Express AI features to produce book trailers, podcasts and infographics, Beanstack data to drive reading challenges tailored to student interests and levels, and Book Creator for interactive digital content. Beyond tools, the workshop addresses the critical why: how to articulate AI's value to administrators using the AASL Standards, develop responsible use guidelines for library contexts and position the library as the campus hub for AI literacy. Grounded in real middle and high school implementation, you will leave with a ready-to-use AI integration roadmap, a curated tool list and adaptable lesson frameworks you can deploy immediately. All workshops are BYOD and require All Access or Session + Registration to attend.
