Mrs. Tina Dietrich
Director of STEAM and Innovation,
Woodland Hills School District
United States
My name is Tina Dietrich. I am the Director of STEAM and Innovation in Woodland Hills School District, located outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Prior to accepting this position I was an elementary (K-6) teacher, most recently teaching 3rd grade. At the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, WHSD adopted a STEAM Curriculum (VEX Robotics) that focused on Computer Science in grades K-5. We are now in our third year using this program. I have expanded our program to now include grades K-12, in a variety of ways. My focus as the Director of STEAM and Innovation is to find ways to expand our Computer Science program within our K-12 schools as well as within the community. One way I have done this is by writing a cross-curricular connection for grades K-12 incorporating Writing within their Computer Science Curriculum through the use of Engineering Notebooks.
