Silvana Spence is a passionate educator and CEO of The STEM Squad, an organization that champions diversity and inclusion in STEM education through a unique blend of literacy and science. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, she is a mother of two and collaborates with her daughter, Isabella, as co-author of the inspiring book series "Bella the Scientist."This series empowers young readers to engage with STEM by connecting their real-world experiences to creative stories and hands-on experiments. Driven by her commitment to providing children with positive representations of themselves in STEM, Silvana advocates for changing the narrative around who can excel in science and technology. Through her writing and public speaking, she works to inspire children of all backgrounds to see themselves as capable scientists, engineers, and innovators. Silvana's work has led her to visit schools, attend conferences, and connect with communities across the country, with plans to release more STEM-focused books and continue advocating for literacy and STEM education throughout 2024.
