Mr. Russ Staggs

Mr. Staggs is a 26 year veteran teacher from Northern Virginia. He began his career in Chesapeake, Virginia, as a theatre instructor. He has taught theatre in southern Virginia, Western Massachusetts, and Northern Virginia over the course of 22 years. He and his students have garnered multiple state and national awards for their performances. Mr. Staggs earned a reputation as an educator dedicated to inspiring creativity and innovation through rigorous collaborative work. In the summer of 2020, at the height of the Covid pandemic, Mr. Staggs began a Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology from Full Sail University on full scholarship. After completing this degree as valedictorian, Mr. Staggs began the second leg of his career as the Instructional Facilitator for Technology at Arcola Elementary School in Loudoun County, Virginia. He has fostered collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the county to facilitate deeper learning through Computer Science and Technology. He enjoys exploring 3D design and printing, VR/AR technology for schools, AI research and initiatives, and working with teachers to develop rigorous educational opportunities for all students.
