In addition to being certified by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) in Effective College Instruction, I was designated as a “High Impact” teacher for my success with students in grades 9-12 by the Florida Department of Education. In 2016-17, I was chosen as Palm Beach county’s “Innovative Educator” (Technology Matrix, Adaption category). For nearly a decade, I have been working closely with the company that brought us Google to learn how to bring life to learning and to teaching. I am currently a Level I Google-certified educator.
Also, since 2024, I have been part of the KHAN Ambassador program, writing curriculum for Khan Academy and Palm Beach County Schools to help teachers use a student-centered approach when utilizing AI (Artificial Intelligence) in the classroom. I am also already versed in several LMS on-line educational environments (Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom Suite, SIS, Edline, etc.).
I earned my M.A. at the University of South Florida and an M.Ed. at Florida Atlantic University. For three decades, I have taught a range of courses. including AP Literature and AICE English at Dreyfoos School of the Arts and Composition (ENC1101, ENC1102, etc.), Literature (AML2010, AML2020), etc. at colleges and universities.
