Dr. Kim Abel is the Head of School at Optima Academy Online (OAO), a pioneering K–12 virtual reality school. She earned her Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University. Recognized by the state as a Teacher of the Year, she is also a National Board-Certified Teacher and a published children’s book author with Waterford Institute. As a national speaker on educational innovation, Dr. Abel is dedicated to fostering critical thinking and leveraging immersive technology to transform learning. Her passion is creating engaging, high-quality educational experiences that empower students to thrive in an ever-evolving digital world.
