Katie is the Director of the Innovation Lab at Gilman School in Baltimore, MD. She engages students in authentic learning experiences using a variety of maker technologies including 3D printers, a laser cutter, robotics systems, and more. A 19-year veteran educator with both classroom teaching and instructional coaching experience, Katie is a graduate of the Penn State University College of Education. Additionally, she holds a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University in the area of technology for educators. Katie’s passion for equitable education stems from both her experience teaching in a variety of diverse settings in the Baltimore area, as well as from her three years engaged in a Leading for Equity cohort through Baltimore County Public Schools.
