High School Math Teacher & EdTech Coach
Professor of Education, Alliant International University & National University
I’m an educator with over 27 years of experience in elementary, secondary, and higher education. I am a full-time high school math teacher and a professor at Alliant International University and National University. I focus on preparing future teachers through courses in instructional strategies, educational technology, and clinical practice.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Math Department Head, instructional coach, and professional development trainer, including nine years with Discovery Education. I specialize in standards-based grading, inquiry-driven instruction, mastery learning, and helping educators make data meaningful and actionable.
I’ve presented at conferences nationwide, sharing practical strategies supporting new and seasoned teachers. Whether working in a classroom or leading a training, my goal is to create spaces where creativity, equity, and student voice thrive.
I’m also the author of an upcoming book that blends research, real-world classroom experiences, and a touch of humor to help teachers rethink instruction, grading, and engagement. Above all, I’m passionate about assisting educators in reconnecting with their purpose, finding joy in the process, and empowering their students to do the same.
