Dr. Deirdre Daniels is the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Georgia Cyber Academy, where she leads large-scale academic initiatives that strengthen virtual instruction, elevate teacher practice, and improve student outcomes across Kâ12. With expertise in curriculum design, instructional coaching, and innovative learning models, she has become a recognized leader in transforming virtual learning environments through research-based, scalable practices.
Dr. Daniels earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and went on to complete her Master of Arts in Teaching, Education Specialist, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University. Her academic work reflects a deep commitment to advancing digital pedagogy, educator development, and equitable learning opportunities.
A two-time District Teacher of the Year at GCA (2019â2021) and recipient of the Bettye Anne Battiste Award for Excellence in Education Research, Dr. Daniels has also presented her research at national conferences including the Eastern Educational Research Association. Her scholarship centers on teacher preparedness in online classrooms, virtual teacher retention, and effective instructional systems for digital learning.
In her current role, Dr. Daniels oversees curriculum development, districtwide data and assessment strategy, instructional coaching frameworks, and professional learning systems. She is passionate about designing clear, actionable structures that help teachers thrive and students succeed, especially in virtual and hybrid environments.
