Debbie Durrence is the Executive Director of Data Governance for Gwinnett County Public Schools in metro Atlanta which serves a diverse population of over 180,000 students. She received her Ed.D. in Education Leadership from the University of Georgia in 2004 with her dissertation research focused on the effectiveness of technology training in a K12 setting. In her current role, she oversees the teams in student data management, data integration, data governance, state and federal reporting, data privacy, as well as data systems and engineering. Prior to that role she served as the school district’s Executive Director of Accountability and Assessment in which she led the team that developed and administered a district assessment program, provided staff development regarding assessment literacy, and supervised the administration of all standardized assessments. She has presented on a variety of topics during conferences for organizations including the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), American Educational Research Association (AERA), 1EdTech, Center for Assessment, and the Ed-Fi Alliance. In addition to previously serving as a member of the board of directors as well as classroom assessment committee for NCME, she currently serves on the board of directors for 1EdTech and the K-12 advisory for Qualtrics.
