Partnership Manager at Kami | Bilingual Educator | EdTech Advocate
I am a dedicated education professional and an impassioned advocate for the modernization of the classroom. With a career spanning over 15 years, I have established myself as a bridge between traditional pedagogy and the future of educational technology. My work operates on the core belief that technology, when utilized effectively, is not merely a tool for convenience, but a powerful catalyst for equity, inclusivity, and unlocking the unique potential of every learner.
My roots in education run deep. For a decade and a half, I served as a Social Studies teacher for grades 8 through 12 at Valley View ISD in Pharr, Texas. Working in this dynamic environment, I specialized as a Bilingually Certified educator. This role provided me with a profound, firsthand understanding of the diverse challenges facing today’s students and teachers. My time in the classroom was defined by more than just curriculum delivery; it was characterized by a commitment to inspiring a genuine love for learning and equipping young adults with the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate the world.
Throughout my tenure at Valley View ISD, I was never content with the status quo. I consistently demonstrated a commitment to professional growth, understanding that to teach the students of the future, I had to constantly evolve. I earned distinctions as a Google Certified Trainer and an ESL Specialist, credentials that allowed me to craft accessible, engaging learning environments for students of all backgrounds. My passion for integration led me to become a "Kami Hero," where I championed the use of digital tools to foster collaboration and deeper engagement. My leadership extended beyond my own classroom, as I served actively on various school committees dedicated to systemic improvement and better educational outcomes.
Today, I bring this wealth of field experience to my role as a Partnership Manager at Kami. In this capacity, I leverage my extensive background to ensure that districts, teachers, and staff have the resources they need to thrive. Because I speak the language of educators, I am uniquely positioned to understand the pain points of the modern classroom. I act as a partner for schools, guiding them on how to use Kami to enhance teaching practices and create inclusive workflows that leave no student behind.
I view my transition from the classroom to the EdTech industry not as a departure from teaching, but as an expansion of my classroom. By empowering educators with innovative tools, I am able to amplify my impact, helping to create ripple effects of success that reach thousands of students. Whether I am facilitating training or managing strategic partnerships, I remain a teacher at heart—dedicated to the principle that with the right support and the right tools, every student can succeed.
