Anita Vermeer, M.Ed. is an Education Program Specialist in the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the U.S. Department of Education. With over 25 years in the field of education, she has worked at various settings in different levels of educational systems, and a theme throughout her career has been focusing on developing and sustaining inclusive settings. She has been a teacher, technology specialist, and instructional coach. Prior to OSEP, she was a district administrator supporting and managing early childhood grants in Virginia. Anita uses her background in Technology and Implementation Science to support the discretionary grant programs supported by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Specifically, Anita oversees a portfolio of discretionary grants that provide technical assistance and professional development to meet the needs of children, students and youth with disabilities.
