Mrs. Allison Bacon
Coordinator of Instructional Technology,
Ossining UFSD
United States
Allison Bacon has been in education for over twenty years. She began her career as a middle school teacher in East Harlem working for the DOE and after four years came to Ossining as a seventh and eighth grade ELA teacher. In 2017, Allison became a part-time Instructional Technology Coach and found new and exciting ways to support implementing technology in the classroom. In 2019, Allison started as the Coordinator of Instructional Technology and has been able to work with teachers, students and administrators throughout the district.
As the Instructional Technology Coordinator, Allison has had the opportunity to work on many great projects. Projects of note are: Hour of Code and AMD Genius Bar. This school year for Hour of Code, Ossining participated in over twenty inter school trips which allowed thousands of students to participate in hands-on coding activities. The AMD Genius Bar is a group of dedicated students that have taken on both technology and library support within the middle school. The work they have accomplished was presented at a panel at ISTE Live 23 and recognized by the NYSSBA as a Champion of Change
