January 16, 2025
EXPO HALL LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH 3386
District Leaders
Welcome to our session on building a comprehensive district-wide STEM program. STEM isn't just about computer science and technology; it's about creating seamless connections between Core standards, curriculum, and technology to foster authentic STEM learning experiences to prepare students for the future. This presentation will illustrate how our district transitioned from using loosely connected computer science and technology tools to fully integrating meaningful STEM connections and deeper learning experiences in every K-5 classroom. Key highlights include: Development of a District-wide STEM Vision Plan: We'll explore the vertical alignment process and our approach to selecting authentic technology that integrates seamlessly with educational standards and curriculum. Funding Opportunities: We'll share strategies for accessing various funding opportunities to support our STEM initiatives. Professional Learning: We'll discuss how we have provided district-wide professional learning to ensure all educators are equipped to deliver high-quality STEM education. Implementation Journey: We'll recount our journey from the initial rollout to full district-wide implementation, including tracking and assessing the STEM program's impact. Join us as we share our experiences, challenges, and successes in creating a robust STEM environment that prepares students for the future.
