Looking for a groovy way to get your students excited about Computer Science (Computational Thinking) integration? Come join Alabama Technology in Motion Specialists Dr. Stephen Walker and Mr. Timothy Johnson for an introductory and hands-on journey into Ozobots! Ozobots are small smart robots that are programmable through drawn lines and color codes or through the easy-to-use OzoBlockly block-based coding editor. With the stroke of a marker, students draw color codes that the Ozobots respond to. By experimenting with different combinations of these codes, students control the movement and trajectory of their robots — all while learning the fundamentals of coding. The Ozobot Classroom curriculum includes K-12 content specific lessons already created for easy CS classroom integration through the use of the Ozobots! Educators and school leaders will also participate in a hands on lesson with computer science inegration with the Ozobots, Ozobot Crawlers, and the Ozoblockly Coding platform (ipads). School leaders will also gain an understanding of the importance of Computer Science and Computational Thinking integration in the classroom.
