January 14, 2025
SOUTH 331C
Inclusion Leaders
Innovative technology tools and devices increase accessibility and open learning pathways for the broad range of diverse, special needs learners. Implementing use of effective technology tools offers huge interventional potential, by addressing the instructional needs of a wide spectrum of students with diagnosed learning and physical disabilities. New, cutting-edge devices and courseware offer game-changing solutions, making learning more accessible and attainable for special needs students. Participants will engage with an extensive variety of innovative, cutting-edge technology tools, interactive interfaces, 3-dimensional hands-on-learning tools, multi-language audio, and rich audio-visual courseware designed to reach and enable students who have defined learning disabilities, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Participants will learn criteria for selecting technology-rich tools and devices that can greatly increase accessibility and learning for special needs students. They will evaluate the potential these innovative technology tools offer for special needs learners, and they will learn how important the effective implementation of cutting-edge technology can be, when matched with guided, hands-on-activities, and how together, these technology-rich devices and hands-on-activities can increase special needs students’ learning and social-emotional health and well-being.
