Innovation and Exploration Spaces: Prioritizing Transformative, Innovative Thinking and Experiences

January 16, 2025
EXPO HALL POSTERS AREA: BOOTH 2395
School Leaders
Immersive, technology-rich innovation and exploration spaces create a perfect learning environment to advance technology skills, AI, robotics, coding, and STEM concepts, promoting engagement and creativity, and positively fulfilling standards, while creating Future-Ready learners. Innovation and Exploration Spaces are much more powerful than spaces where students just “put something together”, that far too often is what describes what students do in poorly defined “Makerspaces”. If schools would focus on innovative thinking, technology skills, and robotics in these spaces, and provide opportunities for students to explore solutions and apply STEM concepts to real life problems, they would advance learning and increase student engagement. Participants will actively engage with cutting-edge technology devices, data collection tools, and 3-dimensional interfaces, learning criteria for what to include and ways to use tools effectively in these transformative spaces. The speaker will share ideas for scheduling, funding, accessibility, and discuss how these spaces benefit ELL’s and struggling students.
