Inclusion Leaders
Discover the step-by-step process of establishing an inclusive Engineering and Makerspace program explicitly designed to cater to underrepresented students, Hispanic Middle School Girls. This program goes beyond technical skills by addressing important social-emotional aspects. Lessons will be shared to help students navigate challenges such as imposter syndrome and microaggressions, fostering resilience and equipping them with strategies to establish peer support groups. Gain access to readily available lessons that can be seamlessly integrated into their own schools. These lessons will align thematically with specific occasions, such as the exciting opportunity to create sewn circuits during the month of October. Students will be encouraged to repurpose their old Halloween costumes, transforming them into imaginative creations infused with technological enhancements like LED lights and sound.
