In my role as the Chief Technology Officer of a district that has unfortunately fallen victim to malware in the past, I can attest to the deeply unsettling and distressing nature of such an experience. The sense of violation and vulnerability that accompanies the realization of unauthorized access to our network is truly profound. However, it's crucial to recognize that this experience also presents an opportunity for learning and growth. In response to the incident, we have taken proactive measures to bolster our digital security and protect our valuable assets. Leading a dedicated team of ten individuals, I personally oversaw a 40-day effort to restore the district's systems and fortify our defenses against future threats. It's essential to emphasize that those impacted by a malware attack are not alone, and there are resources readily available to support their recovery from such a challenging ordeal.
