Rural schools often have unique challenges when working to expand possibilities for students. For Marlena Lawrence, whose students often have never been on a freeway, opening up their world to new opportunities and possibilities was possible with the use of technology. Discover how to use virtual reality technology, flight simulators, and more to drive middle school students’ interest in expanding their horizons. This session will showcase specific ways to use technology to enhance classroom lessons, and to help drive student interest in a variety of careers. From manning a flight simulator to experiencing what it is like to be on a submarine, learn how to leverage engaging tech tools for immersive experiential learning that breaks down the classroom walls and helps students explore a world of possibilities. You’ll come away from this session with lesson ideas and inspiration.
